Tool-Temp introduces the new MATIC Oil 350 48 X n high-temperature oil temperature control unit
Designed for Large Moulds, High Flow Rates and Maximum Process Stability
Modern manufacturing processes place increasingly demanding requirements on temperature control technology. Larger moulds, more complex temperature control circuits and advanced materials require highly precise temperature control. Whether in plastics processing, composite manufacturing or die casting, uniform temperature distribution has become a decisive factor in product quality, process stability and production efficiency.
With the MATIC Oil 350 48 X n, Tool-Temp introduces a new high-temperature oil temperature control unit specifically developed to meet these challenges.
Designed for process temperatures of up to 350 °C, the unit combines 48 kW heating capacity with powerful pump technology to deliver high flow rates and optimum flow velocity. This ensures that heat is transferred quickly and evenly throughout the process while maintaining reliable temperature control, even with large moulds, complex temperature control circuits and high return flow volumes.
Heating capacity alone is not enough – efficient heat transfer is what matters
In today's high-temperature production processes, simply reaching the target temperature is no longer sufficient. What really matters is how quickly and uniformly heat is transferred to where it is needed – and how consistently it is maintained throughout the entire production cycle.
This is exactly where the MATIC Oil 350 48 X n makes the difference.
The combination of high heating capacity, high flow rates and optimum flow velocity ensures efficient heat transfer, even in large moulds, long temperature control circuits and complex temperature control systems. The unit reliably handles high return flow volumes, reducing temperature differences between supply and return lines while preventing local hot spots.
The result is uniform mould temperatures, stable production conditions, shorter heat-up times and consistently high product quality.
Designed for demanding industrial processes
The MATIC Oil 350 48 X n has been developed for applications where large amounts of heat must be controlled precisely and distributed uniformly.
Typical applications include:
Compression moulding of SMC and composite components, for example structural and protective parts for the automotive industry. Large presses and heated platens must maintain uniform temperatures throughout the entire moulding process to ensure consistent material properties, excellent surface quality and short cycle times.
Injection moulding of large plastic components, such as battery housings, battery covers and underbody protection systems for electric vehicles. In large moulds with long temperature control circuits, high flow rates ensure uniform temperature distribution and efficient heat transfer throughout the mould.
Lamination, laminating and thermoforming processes, where multiple material layers are bonded or formed under precisely controlled temperature conditions. Large heated platens, calenders and roller systems must maintain uniform temperatures across their entire working width.
Roll temperature control for coating, embossing, laminating and converting processes. High circulation capacity ensures uniform roller temperatures, resulting in consistent material properties and consistently high product quality.
Bonding, laminating and forming processes, where precise temperature control has a direct impact on process stability and final product quality.
Regardless of the application, one principle remains the same: the larger the moulds, platens or rollers, the more important high flow rates, high flow velocity and uniform temperature distribution become. The MATIC Oil 350 48 X n has been specifically engineered to meet these requirements.
Intelligent temperature control for maximum process reliability
At the heart of the MATIC Oil 350 48 X n is IRIS, Tool-Temp's in-house developed control system. It continuously monitors all relevant process parameters and responds to process changes in real time. Combined with the unit's powerful pump technology, IRIS minimises temperature fluctuations and ensures stable, reproducible production conditions – even under dynamic load changes and with large thermal masses.
The integrated variable-speed drive automatically adjusts the pump speed to match the process requirements. This ensures that the required flow rate is always available while reducing energy consumption, extending pump service life and further improving process stability.
Operation is simple and intuitive thanks to the integrated 7-inch touchscreen, which provides clear access to process data, recipes and diagnostic functions. Integrated OPC UA, Profinet, EtherNet/IP and Profibus interfaces enable seamless integration into modern production and automation environments, making the MATIC Oil 350 48 X n ready for Industry 4.0 applications.
Built for continuous industrial operation
Like every unit in the MATIC product family, the MATIC Oil 350 48 X n has been engineered for maximum reliability, durability and ease of maintenance. High-quality components, a robust design and service-friendly construction ensure maximum system availability and cost-effective operation – even in demanding multi-shift and 24/7 production environments.
Intelligent heat transfer for stable production processes
With the MATIC Oil 350 48 X n, Tool-Temp expands its MATIC product family with a high-temperature oil temperature control unit designed to meet the increasing demands of modern manufacturing. The combination of 48 kW heating capacity, high flow rates, powerful pump technology, intelligent IRIS control and comprehensive Industry 4.0 connectivity provides the foundation for uniform temperature distribution, stable production processes and consistently high product quality.
High-performance temperature control is not defined by heating capacity alone. What truly matters is how efficiently heat is transferred into the process.
